Posted by Admin Fikes on 7 February, 2022 in Pharmacy News, FIKES News, Pharmacy, Uncategorized The visit of the Bachelor of Pharmacy Study Program, FIKES of UAA to the Center for Research and Development of Medicinal Plants and Traditional Medicines (B2P2TOOT) was the beginning of the Pharmaceutical Industry Field Trip 2022 which was held on 3 February 2022. 7th Semester Pharmacy students who participated in the field trip received a lot of information about potential medicinal plants that can be used by the community for traditional medicine. Not only that, students were invited to tour the processing of wet simplisia into dried simplisia. Dried simplisia is stored in a warehouse that meets the requirements for raw material storage by maintaining moisture content (below 10%).
At the end of the visit at B2P2TOOT, students were also introduced to the Jamu Scientification Clinic which provides health services by prescribing traditional medicinal herbs. Students get new information that prescribing a drug is not only with ethical drugs but can also be with traditional medicines. With the knowledge gained from the visit to B2P2TOOT, it is hoped that the competence of students regarding the development of traditional medicine can be increased.
