After completing his doctoral education in the United States, Prof Hamam in 1998 established and became the Head of the Master Programme (S2) Health Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine of UGM until January 2015. In 2000-2003, Prof Hamam established and became Head of the D4 Nutrition Study Programme, Faculty of Medicine of UGM, and in 2003-2009 Prof Hamam established and led the undergraduate study programme, Faculty of Medicine of UGM. Prof Hamam’s career and contribution to the development of Indonesian Nutrition Science is complemented by his role as founder and Director of the Centre for Human Health and Nutrition.
