Bachelor of Nutrition Study Programme of Alma Ata University has pioneered and collaborated with various parties in supporting the quality of education and the output of nutrition personnel produced. Some of the institutions and agencies that collaborate with Alma Ata are:
1. Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA
Alma Ata University signed an international collaboration with John Hopkins University.
The collaboration signed at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland, USA is a collaboration that will also continue several research centres jointly owned by Alma Ata University and Johns Hopkins University. Delivered by the Chancellor of Alma Ata University, Prof. Dr Hamam Hadi, MS, Sc.D, Sp.GK, that students and lecturers of Alma Ata University have the opportunity to learn through several schemes initiated together. The Chancellor hopes that exchange activities can be realised in the near future. One of the activities that will soon be carried out is to bring a Professor from John Hopkins University in September to visit Alma Ata and carry out joint writing of manuscripts with Alma Ata University to be published in international journals. Previously, professors from Alma Ata had visited Baltimore to explore the development of cooperation.
2. Taipei Medical University
Alma Ata University visited Taipei Medical University to sign an international collaboration
Alma Ata University partnered with Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taiwan. The signing of the cooperation agreement was carried out by the Chancellor of Alma Ata University, Prof. Dr. Hamam Hadi, MS, Sc. D., Sp. GK at TMU campus, Taipei, Taiwan on 17 January 2018. This agreement includes Exchange activities both students and lecturers, Joint Symposium, Joint Research & Publication and Curriculum Development. The signing of this collaboration in Taipei is one of a series of visits by the Alma Ata delegation to TMU in response to the TMU delegation’s visit to Alma Ata University in February and December 2017.
During a four-day visit to TMU, the UAA delegation had the opportunity to discuss with the Vice President of TMU, Prof. Chao-Ching Huang which included discussing the possibility of obtaining scholarships from the Taiwanese government. In addition to meeting the Vice President of TMU, the Alma Ata Delegation also met with several Deans such as the Dean of the College of Nursing, College of Nutrition, College of Public Health, College of Global Health and Development and College of Management. This meeting with the Deans is a good opportunity for Alma Ata to realise what has been signed in the MOU into more tangible cooperation activities.
The visit of the Alma Ata Delegation led directly by the Rector of UAA, Prof. Dr. Hamam hadi, MS, Sc. D., Sp. GK, also had the opportunity to meet with the director of the Taiwan Centre of Disease Control (CDC), Prof Tzay-Jinn Chen and the director of Wang Fang Municipal Hospital, Prof Chin-Hsin Lee to initiate cooperation on the handling of Tubercolosis and Dengue Fever by involving the Provincial Health Office of Yogyakarta and Central Java later.
3. National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan visited Alma Ata University to explore international cooperation.
The Chancellor of Alma Ata University and representatives from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan met at Alma Ata University Yogyakarta to discuss opportunities for cooperation between institutions. This activity took place to realise the vision of Alma Ata University to be able to have graduates who are globally competitive. The cooperation between the two institutions is related to the Tri Dharma of higher education.
4. BCN Noparat Vajira, Thailand
FIKES UAA and BCN Noparat Vajira, Thailand agree to collaborate
The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) UAA signed an MoU between BCN Noparat Vajira, Thailand and the Faculty of Health Sciences of Alma Ata University, in Bangkok-Thailand 13 November 2019. This activity is also part of the collaboration of The Praboromarajchanok Institute (PBRI), Ministry of Public Health Thailand and the Association of Indonesian Nursing Education Centers (AINEC), Indonesia.
The contents of the agreement include cooperation in the fields of research, publications, seminars, student exchanges, lecturers in the FIKES UAA environment with BCN Noparat Vajira, Bangkok, Thailand.
5. Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta
Gajah Mada Yogyakarta University has signed a MoU with Alma Ata University on the development of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education).
The MoU signing was done in UGM Multimedia Room on Tuesday (23/10) by UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., Regent of Bungo Regency, H. Mashuri, S.P., ME, Head of the Indonesian National Institute of Health, Dr. dr. H. Siswanto, M.P., DTM, Rector of Madura Islamic University, Ahmad, S.Ag., M.Pd and Rector of Alma Ata University, Prof. Dr. H. Hamam Hadi, M.Sc., Sc.D., Sp.GK. Panut Mulyono hoped the joint agreement is not just a document, but can be followed and implemented with various activities that become a common desire to advance their respective institutions to provide maximum benefits to the community, nation and state. As an old university, UGM certainly does not want to work alone in an effort to contribute to society, nation, and state.
The Chancellor of Alma Ata University, Prof Hamam Hadi, admitted that Alma Ata University is a young university. Even so, Alma Ata University, which was originally Stikes in 2006 and became a university in 2015, has achieved a good ranking in Indonesia. This is evidenced in 2016 ranked 2,928 out of 3,500 universities then in 2017 rose to rank 2,500. A proud achievement in 2018, Alma Ata University jumped far to be ranked 254 universities in Indonesia.
“Alhamdulliah in three years jumped from 2,928, 2,500 and 254.” Hopefully, with this cooperation, we will be able to enter the top 100 in Indonesia and we really hope for UGM’s contribution to that,” said Hamam Hadi.
