Sharing Knowledge, Tips and Tricks: Successful PKM-R Proposal for Social Pharmacy

Najla Firsty Shofia Ahmad (Pharmacy 2018) as the Head of PKM with her members, Inganatul Mukaromah (Pharmacy 2018) and Aryati Canhir (Pharmacy 2019) who were supervised by apt. Ari Susiana Wulandari, M.Sc shared information related to research, tips, and tricks to succeed the PKM-R (Student Creativity Week in Research) proposal. The theme for the PKM-R proposal is social pharmacy, which is about self-medication behaviour. Self-medication is a form of self-treatment by the community using chemical or herbal medicines. This theme was taken because self-medication is a behaviour that is widely practiced by the community and until now it is still a focus for chemists, especially pharmacists, to use these drugs wisely.

The tips and tricks shared to determine the theme and title of the PKM proposal are:

  • Read a lot, either news or articles, especially scientific articles (study literature)
  • Keep abreast of issues in the pharmaceutical field
  • Study literature related to the field of interest with references to recent scientific articles.
  • Avoid references from blogs and similar sources.
  • Write a simple, short, and concise proposal title
  • Apply the observe, copy, and modify method to avoid plagiarism.
